2009 UpdateOpening day is almost upon us and it seems the competition is getting bigger by the moment. Teams will relish the challenges as both sides meaning the American and National leagues will have it's work cut out for them. Now as the season progresses when it truly turns into a summer atmosphere , we will count down the days until the official season begins where everything counts. I think motivation for next year after talking to the NYC DEPT OF PARKS would be to secure a whole bunch of fields through special events and set up a tournament that will take us right into the season.
We are also looking for 2 more teams to join the American League and we have room for 6 more teams for the National league. The weeknight league is almost full and can hold 2 more teams , so guys get ready because the fireworks are ready to go as I explained before that things are definitely heading in a positive direction and you guys keep on pushing your teams abilities because their will be no looking back soon.
The league has moved the upcoming meeting set for tomorrow to next Thursday, February 19th, at 7:30 pm at St. Cecilia's Gym on 24 North Henry Street. Please be advised that teams who still owe the necessary deposit must contact me and make arrangements to meet up with me tomorrow to drop off their deposit. We will still go to the managers meeting next week and go over any changes and issues that need to be dealt with.

2009 Saturday Blacktop LeagueYes , the wheels have been set in motion for quite some time now and the league is unveiling it's newest adventure in the blacktop division for Saturdays with a whopping championship prize to be awarded in the form of $ 4,000.00 dollars. Teams wishing to join this league must be able to play at anytime from 8:00 am & 2:00 pm at various locations throughout Brooklyn & Queens. We are looking for 16 teams to compete in May and now that we have secured the fields , it's time to bring the blacktop division on Saturdays to a whole new level.
