Know where you feel most comfortable hitting.
Do you like high pitches or low, inside or outside? Go to the
batting cages and find out. Once you know this, be patient and more selective to improve your chances of getting a
hit.

Make sure you are accelerate the bat
through the ball as you hit it. The faster the bat speed, the
harder you hit.

Keeping your weight on your back foot will
enable you keep a balanced swing and get better hip rotation. This
will give you a stronger swing. If you look at some great batters,
you'll see that they have their front feet barely touching the
ground.

Keep a loose grip on the
bat. Tension in your hands will slow the bat
speed.

Keep your eye on the ball. Watch the
bat go through the ball so you can make minor height and speed
adjustments.

Hit the ball just out in front of you with
the ball contacting the sweet spot of the bat

Some people suggest hitting with your
pinky off the edge of the bat. This is supposed to increase your
bat speed. It just hurts my pinky, but it may work for
you.
