I Wanna Rock – July 22th Game – Playoff Game # 2

Fuck ‘em.   There.  I said it.  I’m going to say the things that we might think but never say.  I want to kick Smith’s Tavern’s butt.  I want to win.  I like winning.  I want to see Red Face cry.  Don’t get me wrong.  Playing a good game with B61 style is great, but playing with B61 style and winning is much better.   In fact, I think that we play with more style and energy when we are winning.  That’s not to say that we have to change who we are or how we play, but I think it’s ok for us to admit that we want to win.  We can still be aggressive without chants of “Murder!”  If we start out ahead, they’ll turn on themselves and fall apart.  So let’s come out strong from the first pitch.

The Game

 We did not win this time.  The series is tied 1-1.  We know we can beat them.  We just have to do it.

Memorable Moments

Just three for this game.  My brain is too fried to remember the rest.

·        Raible dropping that foul ball that popped out of his mitt.  He bobbled it three times before it fell.  Sorry Run It Out, it had to be memorialized.

·        Capone getting to second and being so happy that he didn’t run into the second baseman that Smith’s third baseman told him to shut up.

·        Tamara running in for a shallow fly ball.  Betsy – “I didn’t even hear her coming.  She was like a ninja, so stealthy.”

Player of the Game

I’m not really sure.  Feel free to nominate yourself.

My Soapbox

If we are ahead early, they’ll fall apart.  Sort of like Seabiscuit and War Admiral.  Let’s leave the field tonight with Smith’s admitting that we were the better team - morally, cohesively, victoriously.
